What Guides Us
Our Team
Camber MacLean He.Him
Owner, Instructor, Guide
Hi, I’m Camber! I have been paddling since I learned to walk, and I think I figured out walking just to get to the water! Since then, I have been an avid paddler and environmentalist. I am veteran of 14 years with the Canadian Army as a terrain analyst and now teach cartography and geospatial sciences with the Nova Scotia Community College. My career and personal life have provided me with the skills I need to provide fulfilling experiences on and off the water. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and someone who has struggled with mental health issues, I work to provide a safe and comfortable space for new and experienced paddlers.
Francine Dulong She.Her
Assistant Instructor and Guide
Hello, Francine here! As a queer, Acadian person I fell in love with paddling voyageur canoes in 2006 and haven’t looked back since. I am a professional interdisciplinary artist with a passion for the outdoors. When I am guiding my focus is on team work and learning from each other and the water. I have been facilitating and teaching for over twenty years and found my way to Meguma after completing the Outward Bound Training Academy in 2024 - our team of 10 circumnavigated Sonora Island in the Northern Gulf Islands of BC (116 nautical miles in 11 days!)! My aim is to help people feel confident on the water, and discover just how much they are capable of, all while reimagining our place in the eco-system of Mi’kma’ki!
The Jeep and Megasport Trailer
To ensure that we can reach paddlers all over Nova Scotia, we maintain a mobile canoe service. To keep us moving, we have our off-road tow vehicle and our Malone Megasport Outfitter canoe trailer. This set up lets us hunt down and provide the best paddling spots in all of Nova Scotia and beyond!
The 16‘ Paluski Fastwater Canoe
Paluski Boats has been manufacturing high-quality and durable canoes, kayaks and paddles since 1980. The Paluski Fastwater is comfortable in rough, open, and moving water. These 100% Canadian made boats are sturdy and safe; ready to take you on a paddling adventure!
